Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Math Teacher to inspire students and foster a love for mathematics across various grade levels. Candidates should have evening and daytime availability to serve students in person in the Palmetto and Parrish area. Learners in need of math support are in grades 5-12.
Duties
- Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, covering topics such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, discrete math, and differential equations.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, quizzes, projects, and formative assessments; provide timely feedback to support growth.
- Manage classroom behavior with effective behavior management strategies to foster a positive learning environment.
- Mentor and support students individually or in groups through tutoring sessions and one on one instruction.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional strategies, and educational research initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance and performance data for administration.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of mathematics including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, discrete math, differential equations, and molecular biology concepts.
- Experience in curriculum development and instructional design tailored to diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Classroom management expertise to create an organized and motivating environment conducive to learning.
- Experience working with students of varying abilities.
