Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assemble dishes according to standardized recipes and menu specifications
- Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, fryers, slicers, and food processors
- Follow strict food safety and sanitation standards to ensure a clean and safe working environment
- Assist in meal preparation for service, including slicing, chopping, portioning, and plating food items
- Maintain proper food handling procedures to uphold quality and safety standards in compliance with health regulations
- Support the kitchen team by communicating effectively with chefs and fellow staff to ensure smooth operations
- Assist with cleaning duties such as washing dishes, sanitizing workstations, and disposing of waste properly
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a food industry setting such as restaurants, catering, or dietary departments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments
- Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient preparation
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal assembly
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently under pressure
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff
- Basic understanding of dietary aide responsibilities or dietary department experience is a plus
