Lower and Middle School Educational Technology Coordinator
Westtown School seeks an experienced Lower and Middle School Educational Technology Coordinator to begin August 1, 2026. The Lower and Middle School Educational Technology Coordinator is a full-time, 11-month position from August through June each year. The Coordinator will be highly collaborative and innovative, with experience, understanding, and enthusiasm in ethical educational technology. Experience with and understanding of lower- and middle-school-aged learners are essential.
The Coordinator will take a leading role in creating and implementing an integrated ethical and sustainable technology program that blends traditional and next-generation skill-building to develop learners who are prepared to thrive in and care for the world. Reporting to the Lower and Middle School Principals, the Coordinator will work closely with faculty in grades Pre-K through 8th to ensure that Westtown students will flourish in a world marked by technological and social change, helping students develop the necessary tools to navigate the future, use technology mindfully, and grow positive self-images, healthy relationships, and strong community ties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with principals and academic leaders to develop and strengthen an engaging and ethical K-8 integrated educational technology program;
Support teachers in best practices for educational technology integration;
Collaborate with teachers to integrate lessons on developing essential technology skills and healthy digital literacy;
Lead and co-teach coding and robotics for Lower and Middle School students, and coach or assistant coach the Middle School robotics team;
Develop culturally competent programs and learning activities that promote problem-solving, creative thinking, collaboration, and effective communication skills while encouraging risk-taking in learning;
Lead the Lower and Middle Schools’ engagement with Artificial Intelligence and provide guidance for using AI and developing AI literacy in alignment with Westtown’s values and strategic vision;
Partner with teachers and IT staff in selecting and administering systems relevant to each division;
Participate in committee work related to ethical educational technology topics;
Supervise and facilitate divisional duties as assigned;
Contribute to building and sustaining an inclusive community and a program that reflects diverse cultures and perspectives;
Enthusiastically seek out and participate in both school-sponsored and self-selected professional development opportunities to grow as an instructional leader and community member;
Participate actively in the life of the Lower and Middle schools, including attendance at Meeting for Worship and divisional faculty meetings;
Communicate effectively with all constituents – students, colleagues, administrators, and parents.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related educational technology field is required;
Related experience working with Lower and/or Middle schoolers;
Familiarity and understanding of professional standards and educational technology models;
Familiarity with introductory coding and robotics;
Expertise with Google products and ability to integrate technology into best teaching practices;
Excellent oral and written communication skills;
A demonstrated commitment to an inclusive school community based on cultural competence, commitment to social justice, and respect for all voices;
A strong character with a team-oriented spirit and the ability to connect meaningfully with all constituents throughout our diverse community;
