Director, Human Resources
Overview
The Human Resources Director provides leadership and oversight for all HR-related functions across the church staff. This includes recruiting and hiring, payroll and benefits administration, legal compliance, and strategic partnership with church leadership. The Director is supported by the Lead Pastor and collaborates closely with ministry staff to ensure healthy and effective staff processes.
Strategic / Vision / Leadership – 60%
- Oversee the full hiring process, including interview structure, candidate communication, onboarding, and Day 1 training for new hires.
- Recommend and implement training initiatives in partnership with the Associate Pastor to equip and develop staff.
- Identify and drive improvements in key areas such as staff training, organizational structure, and procedural efficiency.
- Support staff in HR-related needs relevant to their ministry areas.
- Evaluate the HR ministry in light of the church’s mission, assessing opportunities for better alignment and recommending strategies to leadership.
Process – 20%
- Partner with the Finance Department to manage payroll processing, benefits administration, and timekeeping records.
- Oversee the serving (volunteer) process for Westover Church, ensuring proper vetting for ongoing service and special events.
- Coordinate youth safety procedures with Student Life ministries and partner with Facilities on workplace safety initiatives.
Administrative / Compliance – 20%
- Maintain accurate and secure recordkeeping for personnel files, payroll, workplace safety incidents, driving records, and volunteer background checks.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, including the management and posting of required notices, benefits documentation, and employment applications.

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
