The Weston Public Schools is seeking to hire an Adaptive Physical Education Teacher for the 2026-27 school year. This is a part-time position (0.50 FTE, )with teaching responsibilities at the elementary and secondary school levels. About the Weston Public SchoolsThe Weston Public Schools enrolls approximately 2,000 students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12. The school district includes a high school for grades 9-12, a middle school for grades 6-8, an upper elementary school for grades 4-5, and two lower elementary schools for pre-kindergarten through grade 3. Since 1967, Weston has participated in METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) - a voluntary school integration program that places Boston residents in suburban schools. The Weston METCO program enrolls approximately 150 students (K-12).
Key Responsibilities- Implement IEPs as established
- Design learning activities and physical activity programs specific to the needs of individual students
- Administer motor assessments and tests established for the program
- Asses and report student performance and progress
- Attend IEP meetings as required
- Develop an adaptive physical education schedules
- Recommend scheduling and facility needs
- Recommend improvements for APE program development
- Other duties as assigned
- Master's degree
- Massachusetts license as a Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities
- Minimum three years teaching experience preferred, ideally in a diverse public school setting
This role represented by the Weston Education Association, and entitled to the same salary schedule as teachers and other professional staff.
