MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Pick up soiled linen from designated collection areas according to schedule
- Sort, weigh, wash, and dry all soiled linen
- Organize all laundry for distribution
- Provide accurate documentation of water temperature and dryer filter cleaning per OSHA and Department of Health regulations
- Monitor appropriate levels of cleaning chemicals according to schedule
- Complete personal laundry service for residents of Parsons Health Center as directed
- Clean and maintain laundry equipment, storage area and work station
- Document items for dry cleaning service
- Additional duties as assigned
- Commercial laundry equipment
- Ladder
- Lift 40 pounds without assistance, 40 pounds with manual or mechanical assistance
- Minimum of 90% of responsibilities will be of a physical nature, i.e., folding, standing, lifting, bending, walking, pushing, pulling
- Ability to climb a ladder
- Familiarity with operating commercial laundry equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively; to collaborate with team members and other departments
- Ability to read work assignments and to communicate with residents/staff through verbal and written instructions
- Proficiency in commercial laundry equipment operation
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalency or combination of education and experience to fulfill requirements and essential duties of the position
- One to two years directly related experience
- Experience working with seniors
- Previous healthcare experience
- Previous hospitality experience
- Promote cooperation between team members
- Exceptional customer service skills and the desire to work in an environment with high standards and expectations
- Dedication and compliance with attendance policies
- Ability to take the initiative, a self starter
- Personal effectiveness
