This position is responsible for the general kitchen sanitation and washing of pots and dishes in accordance with current applicable federal, state, local standards, guidelines and regulations. Wash dishes, utensils, and pots. Operate dish washing equipment. Distribute and store clean pots, dishes and utensils.Clean and sanitize production equipment, work surfaces and kitchen according to cleaning schedules and procedures. What You’ll Do In This Role
- Empty trash containers as required.
- Sweep and mop all floors in the kitchen, wait staff area and any other places as directed by the supervisor.
- Clean and break down the dish machine.
- Clean and organize pot sinks.
- Maintain assigned work station in a safe and sanitary condition.
- Maintain acceptable standards of personal hygiene and comply with department dress code.
- Follow safety regulations; report injuries or any unsafe conditions and work practices to the supervisor.
- Complete in-service training and education compliance as assigned.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Good communication skills: ability to get along with others.
- Punctuality and consistent attendance for shifts.
- Demonstrates flexibility and patience, works as a member of a team
- Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Capable of prolonged standing and walking continuously for the entire shift.
- Pushing dish racks, frequent stooping and bending, and lifting up to fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to see and hear, or to use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that sanitation standards are maintained according to federal, state and local requirements.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate a fire extinguisher, dish machine and other cleaning equipment.
The Experience You’ll Bring
- Ability to read, speak and understand English
- Maintains uniforms in a clean and neat condition.
- Available to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends, holidays and morning shifts.
- Flu-Vaccinated
- Prior kitchen sanitation experience
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- General knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures and practices.
- COVID-19 Vaccinated. As of now, the 2025–2026 COVID-19 vaccine formulation is being distributed to providers and pharmacies; however, it has not yet received official approval from the CDC. In Virginia, pharmacists may administer COVID-19 vaccines under the Virginia Board of Pharmacy’s statewide protocols or with a direct order from a licensed medical provider. - Compensation Range: $16.39/hr - $19.27/hr
