The Bar Services Team Member is responsible for creating an enjoyable dining experience for residents and their guests in accordance with the current federal, state and local standards, and our established policies and procedures, guidelines and regulations. Responsible for crafting alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages on the recipes given and monitoring alcohol consumption. Directed by the Dining Services Supervisors and restaurant managers to ensure that quality food service is provided at all times. Bar Service Team Members will be trained and expected to perform as Bartender, Wait staff, Busser, Runner, Host/Hostess, and Cashier as assigned, and will follow established style and order of service in daily assigned positions. What You’ll Do In This Role
- Provides upscale proper service to residents and guests in all venues and for special events.
- Performs the duties of a bartender, understanding the proper alcohol service rules and regulations.
- Performs correct inventory counts and accurately pours controlled beverages.
- Understand service flows and make recommendations for the seating of residents in the dining room and satisfactorily handling or escalating situations as they arise.
- Completes assigned “before and after” side work tasks, including timely setting and bussing of tables before and during meal service.
- Stores, dates and labels food and beverage items properly at the close of meal service.
- Responsible for proper hot and cold food delivery, including accompaniments and garnishes.
- Keeps entire working area clean and organized, not allowing clutter in the service area during service.
- Properly cleans and sanitizes work area and equipment.
- Documents cooler and freezer temperatures as required.
- Demonstrates knowledge of fire safety procedures and assists with evacuation of venues to safe location in the event of fire or other emergency.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates the ability to apply simple mathematical concepts accurately in daily tasks.
- Communicates clearly, respectfully, and professionally with residents, team members, and supervisors.
- Exhibits strong interpersonal skills with an emphasis on empathy, patience, and genuine interest in others, particularly older adults.
- Performs tasks efficiently and responsibly with minimal supervision once proper instructions and expectations have been provided.
The Experience You’ll Bring
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be a minimum of twenty-one (21) years of age
- Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays and special events.
- General knowledge of and adherence to safety and sanitation rules and practices.
- Neat, clean, and professional appearance.
- Ability to use a computer tablet for purchased items, performs cash transactions.
- Flu Vaccinated
- Previous Bartending experience
- Prior food service experience
- Knowledge of Virginia ABC rules and regulations.
- COVID-19 Vaccinated. As of now, the 2025–2026 COVID-19 vaccine formulation is being distributed to providers and pharmacies; however, it has not yet received official approval from the CDC. In Virginia, pharmacists may administer COVID-19 vaccines under the Virginia Board of Pharmacy’s statewide protocols or with a direct order from a licensed medical provider. We encourage all new hires to consult with their healthcare provider regarding the most current vaccination recommendations. Please be aware that, depending on future CDC guidance or regulatory updates, we may require proof of the most recent COVID-19 vaccination as part of our ongoing commitment to health and safety.
- Capable of lifting, carrying and balancing a 20-30-pound tray;
- Frequent stooping and bending; lifting, pushing pulling and moving a minimum of 50-pound cart; and maneuvering independently and safely around the work area.
- Capable of standing and walking for three to eight hour shifts.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to operate a fire extinguisher and to manipulate kitchen equipment.
- Performance of job tasks will involve exposure to cleaning chemicals requiring precautions.
- Compensation Range: $18.17 - $21.35 (based on relevant experience)
