Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional models, to recover and transport vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Ensure proper vehicle loading onto tow trucks using safe vehicle loading protocols and cargo securement procedures.
- Conduct basic vehicle troubleshooting and minor mechanical repairs to facilitate vehicle recovery when needed.
- Follow all safety standards related to cargo securement, vehicle handling, and traffic laws during operations.
- Communicate clearly with clients, dispatchers, and emergency responders to coordinate vehicle recovery efforts.
- Maintain accurate logs of all towing activities, including details of the vehicle condition and location.
- Perform routine inspections of tow trucks and equipment such as flatbed/wheel lift to ensure operational readiness.
Skills
- Proven experience with automotive diagnostics, automotive repair, and basic vehicle troubleshooting.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with commercial truck driving preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicles, including car towing and minor mechanical repairs for trucks or cars.
- Familiarity with cargo securement protocols and safe vehicle loading onto tow trucks.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to manage conflicts professionally.
- Proficiency in operating automatic transmission vehicles and specialized equipment such as flatbeds or wheel lifts.
- Ability to load & unload vehicles efficiently while adhering to safety standards in various weather conditions.
