Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Tow Truck Driver to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely transporting vehicles, providing roadside assistance, and ensuring prompt, professional service to our customers. You will be required to perform pre/post trip inspections, follow safety protocols and maintain the tow and vehicle equipment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your mechanical knowledge and customer service skills will shine. Additionally, your core expertise in driving and tow truck operation, along with relevant skills in customer service and load management, will help you deliver exceptional service to our clients in various situations.
Two shifts available:
Day shift: 6am-6pm 5 days a week
Night shift: 6pm-6am 5 days a week
Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional tow trucks, to recover and transport vehicles efficiently and safely.
- Tow, load and unload using appropriate techniques and equipment for vehicles involved in crashes, police investigations and abandoned/ illegally parked vehicles.
- Work directly with police officers at accident scenes or during investigations, assisting in the safe and timely clearing of the roadways.
- Conduct automotive diagnostics to assess vehicle issues and determine appropriate towing or repair actions.
- Secure vehicles properly using cargo securement protocols to prevent damage during transit.
- Load and unload vehicles carefully, adhering to safety standards and cargo handling procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating clearly with clients, explaining services, and addressing concerns professionally.
- Follow all safety regulations, including mechanical knowledge of tow truck operation and cargo securement protocols, to ensure a safe working environment.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating tow trucks, including flatbed models, with a solid understanding of vehicle mechanics for truck drivers.
- Ability to drive commercial vehicles confidently while adhering to traffic laws and safety standards.
- Excellent conflict management skills to handle challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Knowledge of cargo securement protocols to ensure safe transport of vehicles.
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and assist clients during vehicle recovery and explain the towing process.
- Familiarity with Towbook software
- Maintain accurate records of services performed and communicate effectively with dispatchers.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics and automotive repair.
