What are the responsibilities and job description for the LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE TEACHER - READING TEACHER (March-June, 2026) position at Westfield Public Schools?
LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE TEACHING POSITION JOB SUMMARY:Under the direction of authorized administrators shall:
- Use assessment data to plan interventions.
- Collaborate with building reading coach and/or reading specialist to plan intervention services.
- Assess student progress.
- Attend training and professional development.
- Implement literacy supplementary programs/services.
- Complete student assessments.
- Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
- If needed, communicate with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupils' progress.
- Identify pupil needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, andlearning needs.
- Supervise pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned workday.
- Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the building principal or the Superintendent of Schools.REPORTS TO: Building Principal and Administrator of Special EducationThis is a temporary assignment with no benefits.This position subject to funding.
