Western Tidewater CSB is seeking a dedicated and experienced manager to oversee the Prevention department and Local Community Engaging Initiatives. This role involves strategic oversight of programs, activities, and partnerships aimed at promoting mental health, substance abuse prevention, and community engagement.

- Departmental Leadership:
- Provide visionary leadership for the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) Prevention initiatives.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance prevention efforts related to mental health, substance abuse, and community wellness.
- Program Management:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and evaluation of prevention programs, campaigns cohorts and initiatives.
- Ensure programs align with DBHDS standards, regulatory requirements, and community needs.
- Monitor program outcomes and make data-driven decisions to improve effectiveness.
- Community Engagement:
- Lead efforts to engage local communities in mental health and substance abuse prevention activities.
- Foster partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and stakeholders to support collaborative initiatives.
- Team Management:
- Supervise a team of prevention specialists, team lead(s) and support staff.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Reporting and Compliance:
- Prepare regular reports on program outcomes, budget expenditures, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Other Duties as Assigned:
- Assist with other tasks and responsibilities as directed by the clinic’s executive leadership or governing board.
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in program management, preferably in mental health services, substance abuse prevention, or community health.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders and community partners.
- Valid current driver’s license and acceptable DMV record at time of hire and continuously thereafter
