Summary About the Position : Incumbent will serve as the principal assessment management advisor and consultant to the Plans and Assessment Manager and Director, Prevention Force Modernization Proponent, planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of program evaluations utilizing evidence-based practices to identify training needs, develop and implement surveys and analyze the results. Responsibilities This list is not all-inclusive : Obtain approval for evaluating, assessing, and surveying various audiences to compile statistical data related to the organization’s mission for analysis. Develop customized evaluation / assessment tools to collect target information to be used to develop a viable prevention program. Advise leadership regarding strategies to be used to obtain pertinent information to obtain information relevant to program development. Advise leadership on various aspects of prevention programs, program evaluations, survey development, or public health practices. Use software to collect, manage, analyze, or report on data findings to be used in the administration of the program. Consult with subject matter experts regarding evidence-based best practices to be utilized in the development of educational material to promote the prevention program. Study findings obtained from surveys to develop conclusions and recommendations for leadership to be considered for use in program administration. Executes evaluations or studies in topics related to the prevention of harmful behaviors (such as substance abuse, suicide, sexual harassment, (con't below) sexual assault, domestic or child above, etc.) to amass information to be used in the development of prevention programs. Specialized Experience : One year of specialized experience which includes : 1) demonstrated knowledge of techniques for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness, efficiency, productivity of a process related to the prevention of harmful behaviors (e.g., suicide prevention, domestic violence, substance abuse, etc.); 2) demonstrated knowledge of prevention programs, missions, and functions (e.g., SHARP, Suicide Prevention, ASAP, FAP); 3) experience applying research and analytical techniques to develop fact-based conclusions; 4) experience assisting with or development of survey design and objective data collection; and 5) compiling raw data to prepare various end products such as reports, information papers, responses to inquiries, justifications for requirements, etc. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade / level position in the federal service (GS-12).
