Position Summary
The Child & Family Case Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for child victims and non-offending caregivers following engagement with Western PA CARES for Kids Child Advocacy Center (CAC). This position coordinates services, tracks mental health referrals and outcomes, supports multidisciplinary communication, and helps ensure families receive timely access to advocacy, mental health, and support services.
The Coordinator works closely with members of the Multidisciplinary Investigative Team (MDIT), including law enforcement, Children and Youth Services, victim advocates, medical providers, prosecutors, and mental health professionals to improve continuity of care, reduce barriers to services, and support positive outcomes for children and families.
Essential Responsibilities
Family Engagement & Case Coordination
- Serve as the primary contact for child victims and non-offending caregivers.
- Schedule forensic interviews and prepare families for their CAC visit.
- Complete intake documentation and maintain case records.
- Conduct follow-up with families to assess needs and address barriers to services.
- Coordinate referrals to community resources and victim services.
- Provide ongoing support and communication throughout the life of the case.
Mental Health Referral Tracking
- Coordinate and track referrals to trauma-focused mental health services.
- Monitor therapy initiation, engagement, wait times, and barriers to treatment.
- Follow up with families and providers regarding referral outcomes.
- Maintain documentation related to mental health referrals and service utilization.
Data Management & Documentation
- Maintain accurate case information in NCAtrak and other tracking systems.
- Administer Care Process Model assessments and NCA Outcome Measurement System (OMS) surveys.
- Track program outcomes and prepare reports for grants, accreditation, and program evaluation.
- Maintain documentation required for National Children's Alliance accreditation standards.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Participate in multidisciplinary case review meetings.
- Communicate with partner agencies regarding service coordination and family needs.
- Support collaboration among victim service agencies, Children and Youth Services, law enforcement, prosecutors, medical providers, and mental health professionals.
- Assist in reducing duplication of services and improving communication among partners.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Counseling, Child Development, or a related field.
- Experience working with children and families in a social service, healthcare, education, victim services, or related setting.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize data to recognize patterns and trends.
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred
- Experience working in a Child Advocacy Center, child welfare, victim services, mental health, or multidisciplinary team environment.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and child abuse dynamics.
- Familiarity with National Children's Alliance standards and evidence-based trauma treatment models such as TF-CBT, EMDR, CFTSI, etc.

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
