Job Summary

This full-time Produced & Recycled Water Foreman position is based in Carlsbad, New Mexico, and is responsible for leading the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Western Midstream’s produced-water and recycled-water assets. The Foreman will supervise field personnel, coordinate daily operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and support the reliability of assigned gathering, storage, recycling, distribution, and disposal facilities.

The Foreman will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Instrumentation and Electrical, Engineering, Health, Safety and Environmental, Commercial, Land,

contractors, and other support groups. This position is expected to lead by example, develop employees, promote accountability, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Work is primarily performed outdoors and may involve extreme heat or cold, high winds, dust, noise, uneven terrain, and other conditions associated with oil and gas field operations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years of experience in produced-water, recycled-water, midstream, oil and gas, or related industrial operations.
  • Minimum of one to two years of experience in a lead, supervisory, or operational leadership role.
  • Working knowledge of produced-water gathering, transportation, storage, recycling, distribution, and disposal operations.
  • Working knowledge of pipelines, pumps, tanks, disposal facilities, valves, controls, instrumentation, automation systems, and related equipment.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems and field instrumentation.
  • Ability to read and interpret operating procedures, P&IDs, technical drawings, and equipment documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong leadership, communication, decision-making, troubleshooting, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple activities, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate across functional groups.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs and ladders, walk on uneven terrain, and work outdoors, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Ability and willingness to respond to callouts and operational emergencies outside normal working hours.

Responsibilities

  • Comply with company policies and applicable federal, state, and local safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support Western Midstream’s Health, Safety, and Environmental culture and Core Values.
  • Lead, coach, train, and develop Lead Operators, Operators, and other assigned personnel.
  • Plan and assign daily work activities while maintaining appropriate staffing and operational coverage.
  • Conduct safety meetings, shift handoffs, and operational discussions.
  • Provide employee feedback and participate in performance-management activities.
  • Oversee the daily operation of produced-water gathering, storage, recycling, distribution, transportation, and disposal systems.
  • Monitor system pressures, flow rates, tank levels, pump performance, equipment conditions, alarms, and overall asset reliability.
  • Coordinate facility startups, shutdowns, operational changes, and emergency-response activities.
  • Identify and troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance with Maintenance, Instrumentation and Electrical, Engineering, and other support groups.
  • Prioritize equipment repairs to minimize operational interruptions and downtime.
  • Support facility commissioning, equipment upgrades, system expansions, and capital projects.
  • Verify that Job Safety Analyses, work permits, and required safety documentation are completed before work begins.
  • Conduct facility inspections, safety observations, and housekeeping reviews.
  • Lead or participate in incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Oversee contractor activities and ensure compliance with applicable safety, environmental, and work-quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate operational, inspection, maintenance, and regulatory records.
  • Review employee schedules and time records and ensure required training and qualifications remain current.
  • Track operational metrics, work orders, maintenance activities, and system performance.
  • Communicate operational status, outages, risks, and significant events to management and support groups.
  • Support budget management, cost control, and the responsible use of company resources.
  • Participate in on-call, callout, emergency-response, and system-reliability coverage.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Certifications/Licenses

  • A valid driver’s license with no restrictions that would prohibit operating a company vehicle is required.
  • Candidates must satisfy applicable drug-testing and background-screening requirements.

Travel Requirements

Travel is primarily local between assigned facilities. Additional travel may be required based on operational, training, project, or business needs.

Work Schedule

This position will work the schedule associated with the assigned operating area. The schedule may include overtime, weekends, holidays, after-hours coverage, on-call responsibilities, and emergency callouts.

WES retains the right to establish or modify work schedules based on operational or future business needs.

Residency Requirement

The successful candidate must live within the required response distance of the Carlsbad, New Mexico, reporting location or be willing to relocate. The specific response-time or residency requirement will be communicated during the selection process and confirmed before an offer is made.
