The primary location of this position is on-site in Cullowhee, NC. This position is designated as being subject to the State of North Carolina Human Resources Act (SHRA).

The Wellness Case Manager is charged with supporting students to connect to available resources and services that enhance student well-being. This position collaborates with various student affairs departments as well as other campus partners, as appropriate, to ensure campus-wide engagement in prevention and intervention efforts. By promoting all aspects of wellness, the Wellness Case Manager will develop, coordinate, and deliver wellness programming/campaigns in the campus community.

The duties of the position include: outreaching students who have been referred to the Wellness Case Manager for case management including those referred by the Student Concern Response Team (SCRT); meeting with students to help them connect with various campus services and resources; developing and delivering wellness programs, alcohol and drug awareness education, events and/or workshops to promote holistic well-being and the academic growth of students; assisting with the Catamount Wellness Ambassadors who also deliver wellness programs; providing consultation and training for campus stakeholders to advance wellness across campus; developing communications and marketing for Wellness Promotion initiatives; and promoting and participating in university-wide events and programs.

Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position
  • Knowledge of wellness frameworks: Understanding of holistic wellness (physical, mental, social, spiritual, intellectual, emotional, financial, and environmental dimensions) and ability to apply evidence-based approaches to student support and program design.
  • Case management and student services delivery: Ability to assess student needs, connect students to resources, and document interactions.
  • Program development and coordination: Skill in designing, implementing, and evaluating wellness programs; managing logistics and timelines; and collaborating with campus partners to support student engagement.
  • Communication and interpersonal effectiveness: Ability to communicate clearly with diverse student populations and campus colleagues; active listening skills; and proficiency in written communication for documentation, marketing, and outreach.

Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
