You arrive at our climate-controlled job shop, review the day’s turning queue, and translate prints into efficient CNC lathe programs using your preferred CAM workflow. You lead by example on the shop floor—setting up 2–4 axis lathes (Okuma, Haas, Mazak), dialing in workholding and tooling, proving out code, and coaching operators through best practices. Throughout the day, you verify features with micrometers, calipers, and other gauges, ensuring every custom, high-precision part meets spec.

Throughout the day, you verify features with micrometers, calipers, and other gauges, ensuring every custom, high-precision part meets spec.
What you’ll do
- Own CNC programming for turning work and guide operators on set-up and operation.
- Inspect finished parts and confirm dimensional accuracy using micrometers, calipers, and related metrology tools.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, and sample parts to define dimensions, tolerances, operation sequences, and set-up requirements.
- Collaborate as a professional team member—clear communication, cooperative mindset, and a polished, reliable presence.
- Follow written and verbal machining procedures and related work instructions.
- Maintain dependable attendance and complete assignments on schedule.
- Pitch in on other duties as needed.
- Fluent in CNC programming with CAM software (required).
- Hands-on experience in CNC set-up and operation; strong troubleshooting skills.
- Manual machining capability is a plus.
- Preferred: multi-axis CNC experience; familiarity with CAD/CAM; background producing custom or high-precision parts in a manufacturing setting.
- Organized, dependable, and mechanically adept.
- Stand and walk for the shift; lift up to 50 lbs.
- Occasional bending, kneeling, and climbing.
- Use of PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection as required.
- Full-time, 1st shift: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM; occasional overtime as production requires.
