At Werko Machine Company, you’ll turn complex drawings into finished parts using Haas vertical machining centers while collaborating with a seasoned team. Fluency with CAM programming is essential for success. Mechanical aptitude, reliability, and organization are must-haves. Familiarity with manual equipment is a plus.
A Day in the Life
At 7:30 AM, you’ll review prints, confirm tolerances, and plan your machining strategy in Fusion 360. You’ll post code, set tooling and work offsets, and validate setups on 3–4 axis Haas VMCs. Throughout the day, you’ll inspect in-process and final parts with micrometers and calipers, assist operators, and fine-tune programs for optimal cycle times and surface finish. Clear communication, adherence to procedures, and timely execution keep the team—and the parts—moving.
What You’ll Do
- Program CNC mills and support operators with setup and operation.
- Inspect completed components to verify dimensional accuracy using micrometers, calipers, and related metrology tools.
- Interpret drawings, specifications, or sample parts to determine tolerances, sequencing, and setup requirements.
- Collaborate professionally with teammates; communicate clearly and uphold a high standard of workmanship and appearance.
- Follow written and verbal machining procedures and related shop instructions.
- Maintain dependable attendance and complete tasks on schedule.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Fluent CAM-based CNC programming ability (e.g., Fusion 360).
- Hands-on experience with CNC setup and operation.
- Organized, dependable, and mechanically inclined.
- Proficiency in: CNC Tooling, Troubleshooting, CNC Programming, and CNC Machine Setup & Changeover.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with multi-axis CNC machining.
- Comfort with CAD/CAM workflows.
- Background in custom or high-precision part production.
Tools & Technologies
- Haas CNC vertical machining centers (3–4 axis VMC).
- Autodesk Fusion 360 for CAM.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM; occasional overtime as production requires.
