It’s 7:30 AM in Pennsauken, NJ. The floor is cool and quiet in our climate‑controlled 18,000 sq. ft. facility. A new custom job hits the cell: complex geometry, strict GD&T, and unforgiving tolerances. You review the print, map the workholding and tooling strategy, program the path in CAM, and bring a Haas VMC to life. The first‑article measures dead‑on with micrometers and gauges. Then you hand the station to an operator—coaching the setup steps and the changeover checklist—before tuning feeds, speeds, and offsets to lock in repeatability.

Core responsibilities
- Program, set up, and operate Haas 3–4 axis VMCs
- Interpret blueprints, drawings, and GD&T; convert them into robust machining plans
- Choose workholding and tooling; define the machining sequence
- Run first‑article and in‑process inspections with calipers, micrometers, and precision gauges
- Hold tight tolerances and resolve issues quickly by adjusting offsets, feeds, and speeds
- Guide operators through setups, changeovers, and continuous improvements
- Support production scheduling and keep workflow steady
- Maintain high standards of communication and shop organization
