Position Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounts payable processes, exceptional organizational skills, and a positive work-hard attitude.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Review and approve invoices, expense reports, and payment requests.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and resolve any payment discrepancies.
- Negotiate payment terms and discounts with vendors to optimize cash flow.
- Organize contract renewal dates and stay on top of soon expiring contracts.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to streamline accounts payable procedures.
- Collaborate with the finance team to generate accurate and timely financial reports related to accounts payable.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in all accounts payable processes.
- Collaborate with treasury and finance teams to ensure adequate funds are available for timely payments.
- Prepare and facilitate external and internal audits related to accounts payable.
- Maintain organized and accurate records to support audit inquiries.
- Work with IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve any system-related issues.
- Investigate and resolve any disputes or discrepancies with vendors or internal stakeholders.
- Prepare accurate 1099s for multiple entities on an annual basis.
- Undertake special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience (5 years) in accounts payable management.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
