Overview
We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, bilangual Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner to join our team. In this vital role, you will deliver high-quality mental health services, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support patients across various age groups and mental health conditions. Your expertise will help us enhance patient outcomes through innovative and personalized care.
Duties
- Conduct thorough psychiatric assessments, including patient history, mental status examinations, and diagnostic evaluations using EMR systems such as Epic and eClinicalWorks.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating psychopharmacology, therapy, and other modalities like Botulinum toxin treatment when appropriate.
- Administer medications, injections, and perform procedures such as suturing or dermal fillers in accordance with clinical protocols.
- Provide telehealth consultations utilizing telehealth platforms to extend mental health services remotely.
- Educate patients and families on mental health conditions, medication management, lifestyle modifications, and health coaching strategies.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations while utilizing EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or Athenahealth for seamless record keeping.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Nurse Practitioner with a focus on behavioral health or psychiatry in diverse settings such as hospitals, clinics, or assisted living facilities.
- Demonstrated proficiency in psychiatric medication management including psychopharmacology principles.
- Familiarity with advanced procedures like spinal tap or IV infusion is a plus; experience with acute pain management is desirable.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 coding standards for accurate documentation and billing; CPT coding experience preferred.
- Background working with special populations such as geriatrics, pediatrics (including neonatal ventilator management), or individuals with developmental disabilities enhances your fit for this role.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, and diagnostic evaluation techniques relevant to mental health care.
