Job Title: Vice President & Chief Operating Officer
Reports To: CEO
Job Purpose
Directs, coordinates and exercises functional authority for the WNA – Grand Rapids, Michigan as the Site Leader. The VP & COO is part of the WNA executive team actively participating in developing, executing the company’s strategy with a special focus on Operations and has full responsibility for the execution of the P&L and all required operations together with the local managers. He/She will review existing procedures and examine opportunities to streamline all business functions continuously to improve efficiency, productivity, quality and customer satisfaction. The VP & COO reports directly to the CEO of the company.

The Job Title listed empowers the Incumbent with the authority to execute all duties and responsibility listed below. In the event of a conflict of authority, the Incumbent shall elevate to direct supervisor for resolution.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Works with the Executive Team to set and execute strategies that support the company’s growth objectives and drive continuous improvement across the business
- Responsible for direct management of, Operations, Logistics, Engineering, Production, IT, Continuous Improvement and Testing.
- Responsible for staff leadership (dotted line) of Sales, Marketing, Service and Quality
- Site duties for entire facility and coordinating all other functions in the local organization
- Lead and facilitate the development of new projects and new processes.
- Maintain performance metrics to monitor progress and keep management informed of status, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain safe plant environment and compliance with all regulations (OSHA/EPA/DUC/ITAR).
- Provide monthly forecasts, annual plans and input for WNA’s three-year projections.
- Initiative and manage CapEx investments proposals and forecasts.
- Complete P&L Responsibilities
- Ensure Quality of products, Cost reduction measures, and Schedules are maintained
- Organize and lead staff meetings, including monthly manager meetings
- Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required
FINANCIAL OBJECTIVES: Participate in setting and implementing company-wide and division plans to achieve the year-to-year and long-term objectives of the organization.
BUDGETS: Participate in establishing financial expectations and oversee the setting of company-wide and division operating and capital budgets.
CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS: Maintain high level of focus on the importance of customers and prospects and instill customer/prospect focus throughout the organization, personally doing whatever is appropriate.
EXECUTIVE TEAM: Actively participate in the Executive Team in a collaborative manner, approving strategy, budgets, organizational structure and other key organizational decisions.

PEOPLE DEVELOPMENT and performance management: Drive the personnel development at all levels through talent acquisition, performance management, providing opportunity for high performers, education, communication, expectation setting and self-actualization.

Qualifications
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree or higher and >6 years relevant Supervisory experience in related field. Experience in design & manufacturing of industrial capital equipment or machinery preferred.

- Ensure compliance to Weiss-Technik quality policy, quality systems regulations, and other applicable quality system standards and regulations throughout the organization.
- Communicate the importance of compliance with respect to device safety and efficacy, ramification of non-compliance, general safety rules, manufacturing procedures, company policies and applicable procedures, ISO regulations to direct reports.
Working Conditions
Both stationary work with consistent movement throughout the facility to access files, office machinery, etc. Works at a desk and a computer screen for extended periods of time. Employee must be able to manually enter data to the computer system and understand the screen and images that appear. Frequently lifting and carrying up to 10 lbs and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs. Use of hands to hold, lift and handle materials. Occasional climbing, bending and squatting. While performing the duties of this Job, the associate can be exposed from time-to-time to moderate to loud noise while in the plant area. Incidental local, international, and overnight traveling can be required.
