The Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics invites applications for a position as Visiting Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry for the 2026-2027 academic year (beginning in August 2026). This is a 9-month academic position with a minimum teaching load of 4 courses (or 12 credit equivalents) in each the fall and spring semester. Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field. Candidates who are ABD (All but dissertation) and currently enrolled as a graduate student may be considered in special cases. The candidate is expected to work collaboratively with faculty/staff, mentor students from a wide range of disciplines, cultures, and academic backgrounds, and adhere to administrative requirements of an academic teaching position.
Applicants should have demonstrated expertise to lead instruction in coursework from the core curriculum of the Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics related to areas of instructional need. Course assignments will include General Chemistry I, General Chemistry II, and the corresponding laboratories for Biochemistry and General Chemistry. Other course assignments that align with the candidate’s expertise may be considered as needed.
