WCHS Assistant Football Coach

SUMMARY
Webster County High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our athletic department as a full-time assistant football coach. The successful candidate will work closely with the head coach to develop and implement training programs, foster teamwork, and enhance the skills of student-athletes. This role requires a commitment to promoting a positive and competitive environment while prioritizing the academic and personal growth of our students.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist the head coach in planning, organizing, and conducting daily football practices and training sessions.
• Help develop game strategies and play-calling for competitions.
• Provide individual and group instruction to student-athletes to improve their skills and understanding of the game.
• Monitor student-athlete performance and progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect among players, coaches, and opponents.
• Collaborate with other coaching staff to ensure a cohesive and effective football program.
• Assist in the recruitment and retention of student-athletes for the football program.
• Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state regulations regarding athletics.
• Participate in team meetings, coaching clinics, and professional development opportunities.
• Maintain communication with parents and guardians about team activities and student-athlete progress.
• Assist with the organization and execution of fundraising activities and community outreach programs.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, or a related field preferred.
• Previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of football techniques, strategies, and rules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with coaching staff, school administration, and parents.
• Commitment to the academic success and well-being of student-athletes.
• First Aid/CPR certification is preferred or must be obtained upon hiring.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed during the football season.
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel for games and events.
