The role
As a full time Shooter/Editor at WebsEdge you’ll be based at our Georgetown, Washington DC office, with hybrid working options available. Your responsibilities would include:
· Editing 6-minute mini-docs for our clients, working from a brief provided by our producers, but picking soundbites and creating structure as needed (typically up to 2-3 edits a week).
· Heading to 8-10 conferences per year across the country for a week at a time, to shoot and edit content for delivery the same day, working alongside one of our Output Producers.
· Shooting mini-docs as needed in the DMV area – usually single day interview and B-roll driven shoots (probably 10-15 per year).
Editing
We’re looking for someone with a passion for taking several hours of raw footage, a clear client brief, and turning it into a dynamic and compelling short video. To excel in this role you’ll need to:
· Be a fast and organized editor, able to turn around a polished 5-minute edit in 2 days or less.
· Self-motivated, disciplined and great at sticking to schedule.
· Ready to interpret and follow direction from colleagues as well as clients.
· Have experience editing similar interview-driven short videos.
· Have at least 2 years professional experience with Adobe Premiere Pro.
Shooting
We’re looking for someone ready to shoot dynamic, visually interesting B-roll and Interviews in fast moving environments. As a shooter on both the docs and at conference you’ll need to:
· Be able to quickly set up simple multi-camera, 3 point lighting interview set ups.
· Have a great eye for interview framing.
· Ready to shoot and direct clean, dynamic B-roll sequences on gimbal and tripod.
· Work to a tight schedule but adaptable to change as needed.
· Able to self-shoot as well as work in a team.
· Willingness to travel for at least 8 (normally non-consecutive) weeks out of the year.
As an early career shooter/editor we hope you’ll have a great aptitude for all these things, but we will also be able to provide lots of training and support when working alongside our experienced production team.
We’re offering a salary of $60,000 for this role, with healthcare and vacation time included. If this doesn’t meet your expectations but you feel you are a good fit for the role, please include your salary expectations in your covering letter.
After initial interviewing, our hiring process will involve some preliminary paid try-out edits and shoots – typically at $600 per edit / $750 per shoot day (excluding gear) – before we bring you on full time.
Salary : $60,000
