Job Summary/Basic Function
This position will be located at the Community Education Center, 2605 Monroe Blvd. in Ogden. It provides comprehensive administrative support for the Community Education Center (CEC), working directly with the CEC Director and supporting other professional staff in delivering high-quality community-based educational programming.
Working primarily at the Community Education Center, this position operates with a high degree of independence and main responsibilities include, but are not limited to, providing administrative and operational support for all processes provided to students participating in the center’s programs, coordinating event details and tasks with hourly support staff to ensure appropriate coverage is provided for evening and community-based programming. This role requires some flexibility in the regular work schedule that includes working frequent evening hours to support community programming.
The position provides basic monitoring of indexes related to multiple programs and self-support funds, reviews monthly departmental purchases in accordance with university policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely coordination with program delivery, working closely with the division’s centralized operational teams in initiating and tracking all financial requests, such as purchase requisitions, ePARs, invoices, funds transfers, and submitting requests for course setup, surveys, marketing and other program-related tasks.
Other responsibilities include coordinating facility operations, initiating and maintaining rental agreements with external entities, arranging event support for various programs at the center, and collaborating with campus and community partners. This position will be monitoring the center’s social media accounts to help promote events, programs, and community partnerships.
Required Qualifications
Required
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two years of secretarial, administrative, operational or financial support, customer service, or office management experience
- Bilingual Spanish and English
Preferred Qualifications

- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Email, and other basic office software applications
- Proficient with data entry programs (i.e. Banner or similar) and data accessing programs (i.e. Argos, or similar)
- Comfortable learning new software programs independently and on-the-job and able to stay current with updates
- Able to problem-solve complex issues and independently or as part of a team seek out and implement a solution
- Detail-oriented and able to review information for accuracy and thoroughness
