Job Summary/Basic Function
Individual will manage various aspects of the Chemistry Department office, including entering semester schedules on a strict deadline, maintaining and responding to emails on a daily basis, processing major/minor declarations, ordering office supplies, reconciling faculty purchases,
planning and organizing events and seminars, and using multiple software programs to retrieve information, run reports, and assist students. Individual will serve as a receptionist and perform other office duties such as scheduling appointments, answering phones, addressing and resolving issues, processing mail, maintaining files, and assist faculty with other tasks as needed. The Administrative Specialist reports to and is supervised by the Department Chair.

Required Qualifications
Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Two years of full-time secretarial/clerical/administrative support experience, or equivalent/related
- Ability to use technological tools such as Microsoft Office, Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar) and Adobe
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred:
- Ability to provide excellent customer service
- Ability to file and organize information
- Ability to consistently assist students in a helpful and compassionate manner
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and complete varied work projects (e.g. scheduling, purchasing, reconciling credit-card statements) in a timely manner
- The ability and willingness to become a skilled user of eWeber apps including Concur, Paw Place, Banner, and any new technologies the university implements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interface effectively with a variety of people
- Efficiency and creativity in communication and outreach in multiple formats (e.g. newsletters, emails, special events, and day to day conversations)
