Position Information
Position Title Weber Cares Pantry Specialist Requisition Number H01720P Position Category Hourly/Work Study Campus Location Weber State University - Ogden, UT Hours per week 20-25 Months per year Alternate work schedule
Applicants must have availability Monday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Additionally, we are seeking applicants who are available twice per month on Mondays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. to assist with scheduled deliveries.
Pay Grade Salary Hourly Pay Rate $ 14.00 FLSA Job Summary/Basic Function
Responsibilities
The student will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Weber Cares Pantry. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Seeking WSU student applicants with the following skills and abilities:
Self-starter; energetic and outgoing; customer service oriented; ability to organize; excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills; Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in food pantry operations and inventory management
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices

Responsibilities

- Opening and closing the pantry.
- Organizing, stocking, and rotating food and resources.
- Checking and responding to pantry emails.
- Handling incoming phone calls and assisting callers with their questions.
- Overseeing volunteers who sign up to assist with pantry operations.
- Providing orientation and guidance to volunteers on pantry policies and procedures.
- Assisting pantry clients.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of all clients.
- Delivering Pantry Packs to WSU departments.
- Assisting with donation drives.
- Tabling at events to share the benefits of the pantry and how WSU individuals can support or utilize this resource.
- Must be able to lift 30-40 lbs for deliveries and other pantry-related tasks.
