What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate - General Liability and Medical Malpractice - Scranton position at Weber Gallagher Simpson Stapleton Fires and Newby?
Weber Gallagher has an immediate opening for an Associate Attorney or Partner to join the General Liability/Medical Malpractice group in our Scranton, PA office. The individual will be responsible for handling a wide range of general liability, defense litigation matters.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze complex legal and factual issues and conduct well-reasoned legal research.
- Draft pleadings, answer written discovery, take depositions, and participate in arbitrations and trials.
- Communicate with clients, the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel while adhering to all deadlines.
- Ability to travel for court, client meetings, etc.
- Ability to work on-site in Scranton, PA office.
Requirements:
- 8 years of experience, preferably in general liability defense litigation. Medical malpractice experience a plus.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- PA active and good standing bar license, required.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated interest in liability defense.
