What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate - General Liability and Medical Malpractice - Scranton position at Weber Gallagher?
Weber Gallagher has an immediate opening for an Associate Attorney to join the General Liability group in our Scranton, PA office. The individual will be responsible for handling a wide range of general liability, defense litigation matters.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze complex legal and factual issues and conduct well-reasoned legal research.
- Draft pleadings, answer written discovery, take depositions, and participate in arbitrations and trials.
- Communicate with clients, the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel while adhering to all deadlines.
- Ability to travel for court, client meetings, etc.
- Ability to work on-site in Scranton, PA office.
Requirements:
- 3 years of experience, preferably in general liability defense litigation. Medical malpractice experience a plus.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- PA active and good standing bar license, required.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated interest in liability defense.
