Job Overview: On-Site Low Slope Roofing Project Superintendent
Lead a low-slope roofing crew on a large capital roof project with opportunity for future work and advancement. This role is expected to last approximately 12 months, aligned to a major roof replacement project located outside the protected area of a Nuclear Facility in Huntersville, NC. Strong performance and project success may lead to advancement and/or placement on future projects outside the PA after completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily roofing operations and lead an outside crew to meet safety, quality, and schedule requirements.
- Read, interpret and communicate project specifications, drawings, and manufacturer requirements to crew.
- Plan work activities, coordinate labor and equipment, and support project management needs.
- Know, follow, and enforce OSHA regulations and company safety procedures.
- Learn and follow strict nuclear site policies, guidelines, and documentation requirements.
- Communicate respectfully and effectively with crew members, client representatives, project oversight personnel, manufacturers, and engineers.
- Attend progress meetings, provide status updates and help maintain/adjust project schedules.
- Track inventory usage and forecast material/tool needs to avoid delays.
- Maintain clear daily reports (production, manpower, safety, deliveries, issues, and punch items).
- Problem Solve and communicate with Engineers, Manufacturers, and Nuclear Facility Personnel when changes in scope or project arise.
- Be present on site at project location at all times.
Qualifications
- 10 years of commercial low-slope roofing experience.
- 5 years as a Superintendent, Project Manager, or equivalent leadership experience.
- Familiar with different low-slope roofing systems, particularly Torch Applied and Modified Bitumen
- Comfortable with email and basic computer skills (daily communication and reporting).
- Ability to read and interpret specs, drawings, and scopes of work.
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards; commitment to jobsite safety and accountability.
- Ability to learn and follow strict client policies and procedures (Nuclear site safety requirements).
- Strong leadership, organization, and professional communication skills.
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred, not required.
- Must be able to pass initial & random Drug Testing
- Must possess Valid NC Driver's License
- Must have reliable transportation to arrive at Jobsite each day
- Must be a US Citizen or possess valid Visa
Schedule
Monday-Thursday: 10-hour shifts, 7:00 AM- 5:30 PM
*Nuclear Sites operate on a 4 day, 10 hr schedule. Project must be completed within these hours.
Compensation
Up to $42/hr based on experience, plus negotiable bonus opportunities based on experience project success.
