Senior Property Manager – Affordable Housing
Location: Jamaica Plain, MA
Salary: $90,000–$95,000 Comprehensive Benefits
We're partnering with a well-established property management organization seeking an experienced Senior Property Manager to oversee a portfolio of affordable housing communities in the Jamaica Plain area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned property management professional with a strong background in affordable housing, compliance, team leadership, and financial management. The successful candidate will oversee the operational, financial, and administrative performance of a geographically concentrated portfolio while serving as the primary manager for an assigned site.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day operations of a portfolio of affordable housing communities.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and affordable housing program regulations.
- Prepare and submit rent increases in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and manage annual operating budgets while monitoring financial performance.
- Oversee resident certifications and recertifications, including LIHTC and Project-Based Section 8 programs.
- Conduct regular property inspections to ensure high standards of maintenance and curb appeal.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop site management and maintenance teams, including performance evaluations, coaching, and employee development.
- Manage resident relations by resolving concerns and fostering positive community engagement.
- Execute leases, renewals, amendments, and subsidy reimbursement documentation.
- Review and approve invoices, vouchers, payroll, and overtime submissions.
- Partner with Human Resources on recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and staffing needs.
- Coordinate compliance reviews, management audits, and EEO inspections, implementing corrective action plans as needed.
- Attend court proceedings when required for housing-related matters.
- Provide operational updates and recommendations to senior leadership regarding portfolio performance.
- Support commercial leasing activities where applicable.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive property management experience, preferably within affordable housing.
- Demonstrated experience with LIHTC, Project-Based Section 8, and other affordable housing subsidy programs.
- Strong knowledge of resident certification and recertification processes.
- Experience using OneSite property management software.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is highly preferred.
