Accounts Receivable Manager | Commercial Real Estate | Baltimore, MD
We are working with a highly respected, regional leader in commercial real estate development on a key hire for their team based in Baltimore. You'll join a successful and reputable firm that manages an impressive asset portfolio across the East Coast and Southeastern US.
The Role
This role offers a hands-on leadership opportunity within the finance team, giving you a direct oversight of the day-to-day accounts receivable and collections function across a premium commercial portfolio. You will work cross functionally with leasing, legal, and property management teams to maximize cash flow and maintain the financial integrity of the portfolio.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supervising and mentoring the AR / collections team, directly overseeing cash application, billing reconciliations, and the month-end/year-end close processes.
- Managing the end-to-end collections process across the commercial portfolio, including building proactive workflows and optimizing aging reports.
- Partnering with internal teams and outside Counsel to navigate delinquent accounts, legal collections, payment plans, and eviction processes.
- Serving as the primary escalation point for complex tenant billing disputes, lease-related discrepancies, and high level negotiation.
- Overseeing treasury and banking relationships, ensuring accurate tracking of deposits, adjustments, and subledger integrity.
- Preparing and presenting AR performance metrics and aging summaries directly to management to drive informed, strategic decision making.
What We're Looking For
- At least 3 years of progressive experience within accounts receivable, collections, or treasury operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or management capacity.
- Experience in a similar role within a commercial real estate or similar company, including a solid understanding of commercial leases.
- Technical proficiency with industry-standard accounting software - Yardi Voyager and CommercialCafe are highly advantageous - as well as advanced Excel skills.
- An analytical mindset with a proven track record of reducing delinquency, improving cash flow, and maintaining a cool head under pressure.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the professional diplomacy required to collaborate with legal counsel, leasing teams, and senior Executives.

- Starting base salary of $75,000 to $85,000 depending on experience.
