JOB TITLE: Construction Project Manager

Company Overview
We Search People are partnered with a leading commercial general contractor with a strong presence across the Southeast. Specializing in ground-up commercial construction projects across sectors including healthcare, education, hospitality, office, retail, municipal, and mixed-use developments, they are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Project Manager to join their growing Atlanta team.
Position Overview
The Commercial Construction Project Manager will be responsible for leading ground-up commercial construction projects from preconstruction through final closeout. This individual will oversee all aspects of project delivery, including budgeting, scheduling, subcontractor management, client relations, and overall project execution, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage ground-up commercial construction projects from preconstruction through completion
- Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, cost reports, and forecasts
- Lead project teams including Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors
- Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and key stakeholders
- Review and manage contracts, drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and project documentation
- Oversee subcontractor procurement, contract negotiations, buyout processes, and performance management
- Monitor project financial performance, including cost control, forecasting, change orders, and monthly reporting
- Identify project risks and implement proactive solutions to maintain schedule and budget objectives
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and company procedures
- Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to clients and senior leadership
- Foster and maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business opportunities
- Assist with preconstruction activities, estimating reviews, value engineering, and project planning efforts
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- 5 years of experience managing ground-up commercial construction projects
- Proven experience delivering projects within sectors such as healthcare, education, office, hospitality, retail, municipal, institutional, or mixed-use developments
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, project scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and project management processes
- Experience managing project teams, subcontractors, and client relationships throughout the project lifecycle
- Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar construction management software
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of contract administration, project financial management, and risk mitigation
- Experience within the Atlanta construction market and established local subcontractor relationships is highly desirable
