Project Accountant

About the firm:
We are working closely with a mid sized contractor that has a significant project portfolio across healthcare, hospitality and commercial builds.
About the role:
They are looking for someone who can:
- Ensure original budgets and contract values are correct in the accounting software.
- Analyze and evaluate project data and metrics to track and report project progress.
- Support in forecasting activities in preparation for monthly cost to complete meetings and analysis of variances
- Communicate project status and regular project updates to management.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project reports to assist management in decision-making.
- Assist in coordinating the efforts of various team members.
- Perform audits to ensure cost accuracy and adherence to financial regulations.
- Reconcile Project receivables and payables and support accounting in processing and proper coding.
What you will need:
- Must have 4-5 years Construction accounting experience.
- Proficiency in financial accounting and reporting.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- Experience with Sage or Coins.
