DIRECTOR OF CONSTRUCTION

COMMERCIAL GENERAL CONTRACTOR
A well-established and growing Commercial General Contractor based in Pittsburgh, PA is actively looking to hire an experienced Director of Construction to oversee and lead construction operations across multiple large-scale commercial projects.
This is a key leadership position within the business, offering the opportunity to play a major role in company growth, operational strategy, project execution, and team development. The company has a strong reputation in the market and a healthy pipeline of commercial projects throughout the region.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience managing Project Managers, Superintendents, and construction operations while maintaining high standards across safety, quality, budgeting, and scheduling.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead and oversee all construction operations across multiple projects
• Manage and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams
• Drive project performance, scheduling, budgeting, and operational efficiency
• Work closely with executive leadership on growth strategy and company operations
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
• Improve construction processes, systems, and overall team performance
• Support business development, client relationships, and preconstruction efforts
• Maintain strong communication with owners, architects, consultants, and subcontractors
REQUIREMENTS:
• 10 years of commercial construction experience
• Proven leadership experience within a Commercial General Contractor environment
• Experience overseeing multiple large-scale commercial projects simultaneously
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, operations, and field management
• Background managing Project Managers and Superintendents
• Experience with ground-up and renovation commercial construction projects
• Strong communication and leadership abilities
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar software
• Construction Management degree preferred but not required
