WB Residential Communities, Inc., one of Hudson Valley’s premier real estate property management companies, is seeking a Property Accountant. The position reports to the Controller in the corporate office in Chappaqua NY. Primary responsibilities including, but not limited to:
Responsibilities:
- Full-cycle accounting for a designated portfolio of affordable and low-income housing properties.
- Support property accounting operations with responsibilities that include Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing.
- Manage and perform month-end close process including bank reconciliations, mortgage and escrow recording, and revenue and expense analysis.
- Complete and review the annual close and support the year-end audit process, working closely with the independent auditors.
- Assist in preparation of property’s annual operating budgets.
- Interface with fellow Property Managers to ensure accurate reporting of asset performance.
- Prepare annual reports and financial schedules with compliance related documentation periodically during the year.
- Ensure proper accounting procedures and internal controls are followed to maintain accurate records.
- Read and understand loan documents, partnership agreements, regulatory agreements, and closing statements.
- Support Controller with Ad Hoc Projects.
- Preparation of entity bank reconciliations
- Allocation of Shared Services expenses to portfolio
- Reconciliation of Intercompany accounts
Skills and Abilities:
- Proficient in Yardi or comparable software, a plus
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Must be flexible and organized
- Demonstrate a serious commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting goals or deadlines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Education Requirement:
- Accounting Degree or equivalent experience
Experience:
- 2-4 years of accounting experience, preferably property management and/or public accounting
