Assistant Toddler/Preschool Teacher

Job Overview:
The Toddler/Preschool Assistant Teacher supports the lead teacher in creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assist in implementing structured and play-based activities that support cognitive, social-emotional, language, and physical development
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and nurturing classroom environment
• Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations and health and safety guidelines
• Actively supervise children at all times to ensure their safety and well-being
• Support the lead teacher in observing and documenting children’s development and progress
• Provide individualized support to children as needed, including guidance with routines, transitions, and social interactions
• Encourage positive behavior, independence, and age-appropriate skills
• Communicate respectfully and professionally with staff and families
• Assist with daily routines such as meals, diapering/toileting, and rest time
• Help prepare materials and set up activities as directed by the lead teacher
• Maintain accurate records and assist with classroom documentation as needed

Requirements:
- Previous experience in childcare, babysitting, or early learning teaching
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques
- Ability to educate and engage young children effectively
- Strong communication skills to interact with children, families, and colleagues
- A CDA or degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred but not required
