JOB REQUIREMENTS: Wausau Tile is seeking a hardworking, energetic, and
safety-minded individual to join our team in the Grinding & Polishing
role. The ideal candidate must be able to work effectively both
individually and as part of a team, with minimal supervision. A
candidate should be able to read and understand production paperwork,
including schedules and specifications, operate equipment and machinery
As Necessary, And Possess Mechanical Aptitude. BRIEF DESCRIPTION The
Grinding & Polishing role primarily involves setting up, adjusting, and
operating equipment to produce high-quality concrete and epoxy precast
terrazzo products, such as stair treads and risers. Employees are
typically assigned to the Hand Polishing/Grinding area but may assist in
other departments as needed. This position ensures products meet the
required standards for finishing and prepares them for further
processing. SPECIFIC TASKS Grinding o Use a hand-held electric powered
grinder with an abrasive grinding pad to rough-grind products through
multiple stages. o After grinding, stage the product for additional
processing, which may include Concrete Grouting or Epoxy Cab-o-Siling.
Polishing o Using a pneumatic powered polisher, polish products
following a specialized technique of continuous passes with finer grit
polishing pads. o Use a crane to place previously ground and
grouted/cab-o-siled products on a workstation, set up the equipment, and
begin polishing. Inspection o After completing the polishing process,
inspect products for quality and completeness. o Use various measuring
tools to verify the product meets required specifications. o Clean and
wipe down the product after polishing. Staging o Once polishing is
complete, use material handling techniques to place finished products
onto pallets or movable carts. o Transport the polished products to a
staging area for further processing by the Finishing department.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability To Stand For Extended Periods, Bend,
reach, stretch, lift, walk, twist, squat, and kneel. Ability to lift and
move objects weighing up to 50 pounds in all directions. Repeating
motions, including those of the wrists, hands, fingers, knees, back,
shoulders, and neck. Comfortable with ascending or descending ladders,
