Position Overview:
Wausau Tile is seeking a hardworking, energetic, quality-driven, and safety-conscious individual to join our Precast Terrazzo/Epoxy Team as a T500 Operator. This role requires someone who is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision. You will need to have the ability to read and interpret production paperwork, including schedules, blueprints, and spec sheets, while being mechanically inclined to operate the T500 grinding and polishing machine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Programming:
- Review production schedules and paperwork to understand product specifications and priorities.
- Input measurements, dimensions, and data into the T500 machine via computer interface to begin grinding and polishing operations.
- Coordinate with supervisors and project management to address any concerns or adjustments.
- Machine Operation:
- Load unground or unpolished products onto the T500 machine and adjust settings as required for each specific job.
- Monitor the grinding and polishing process, adjusting machine settings to meet quality standards and customer specifications.
- Material Handling:
- Use overhead cranes, hoists, and pneumatic suction pads to move products after grinding/polishing.
- Transport completed products to designated staging areas for further processing or shipping.
- Maintenance and Support:
- Perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment, ensuring they are properly stored and in good working condition.
- Keep the work area organized and clean, and perform restocking duties as necessary.
- Perform additional support tasks such as sweeping, organizing tools, and assisting team members as needed.
- Additional Tool Usage:
- Occasionally use hand tools like screwdrivers, wrenches, scrapers, razor blades, drills, and drivers (both cordless and pneumatic).
