This is a great opportunity for experienced diesel mechanics and heavy truck technicians who are looking to grow their skills while working on a modern fleet of garbage trucks and maintaining yellow iron equipment at our transfer station.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks and heavy equipment.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve mechanical issues.
- Maintain and repair yellow iron equipment (e.g., loaders, compactors) at the transfer station.
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
- Address issues from Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs).
- Maintain accurate records using fleet maintenance software.
- Keep a clean, organized, and safety-compliant work environment.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, supervisors, and fellow mechanics.
- Work around large vehicles and heavy machinery in a busy, hands-on shop.
- Exposure to noise, fumes, grease, and outdoor weather conditions.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of tools, parts, and equipment — including items over 50 pounds unassisted.
- On your feet for most of the shift, climbing in and out of vehicles, and using diagnostic and repair equipment.
- We maintain a clean, organized, and safety-compliant workspace, and we expect every team member to contribute to upholding this standard.
- Minimum 1 year of diesel mechanic or heavy truck repair experience (this is not an entry-level role).
- Completion of a vocational or technical program is a plus.
- CDL preferred (or willingness to obtain within 90 days).
- Must have personal tools.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and service documentation.
- Welding experience is a plus.
- Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.
