- Ensure mechanics and PM techs are properly trained and supported.
- Maintain compliance with all regulatory agencies and standards.
- Oversee inventory control and equipment maintenance.
- Train mechanics in diagnostics and repair techniques on the garbage trucks and heavy equipment.
- Assign and schedule work for shop personnel.
- Coordinate external repairs when needed.
- Test vehicles to troubleshoot and verify repairs.
- Manage parts purchasing and vendor pricing.
- Assist with monthly financial projections and annual budgeting.
- Keep departmental costs within budget.
- Oversee Material Recovery Facility, Scrap Metal Yard, and Organics Facility
- 3 years of experience in truck, light, or heavy equipment maintenance and repair (waste industry experience a plus).
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing air brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Working knowledge of DOT compliance requirements.
- Ability to plan, budget, and manage multiple projects.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Willingness to relocate for future growth opportunities.
