Job Summary
The Human Resources Generalist will support the Human Resources department by performing daily functions including recruiting, onboarding, workforce development and benefits & leave, as well as enforcing company policies and practices.
Responsibilities
- Prepare job postings and place as needed
- Track and analyze recruiting and onboarding progress throughout the entire life cycle; communicate progress to department managers as needed
- Collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for open positions
- Coordinates new hire testing and training
- Conducts or acquires background checks and reference checks
- Facilitates effective communication between candidates/employees
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
- Maintain accurate and up to date personnel records and data entry in respective HR systems
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute HR programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits & leave, disciplinary matters, disputes and investigations, performance & talent management, productivity, recognition & morale, occupational health and safety and training & development
- Maintains compliance with federal, state & local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes and new technologies in Recruiting, Human Resources, Talent Management and employment law.

Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficient in English and Spanish preferred
- Five (5) years HR/Recruiting experience in the construction or manufacturing industries preferred
- Must be able to work independently or with a team; willingness to be flexible as needed
- Proficient in MS Office
- Proficient in UKG Ready preferred
- Consistent, reliable and punctual attendance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
