DSHS’ Home & Community Living Administration (HCLA) WCF is hiring key team members now to assist as we move toward the full implementation of the program. Beginning in 2026, the innovative work that you do now will aid qualified people and their authorized representatives to apply for and access their earned benefits that help pay for daily-living activities. Your experience, knowledge, and skills make a difference.

This job is located in the WA Cares Fund Imaging Unit (WCIU) and will be supervised by the WA Cares Fund Forms and Records Specialist Supervisor. You will work with current and archived records for the WA Cares Fund and assists with the development of the uniform statewide process for imaging paper documents to electronic records.

This includes the management non-scannable items and tracing them back to a case or provider file. You will perform prepping, scanning, indexing, boxing up, and record retention of documents. Your responsibility includes assisting with tracking, researching, and quality assurance around the electronic storage of the records. The duties of this role are complex and confidential in nature and involves the use of scanning equipment, the Benefits and Customer Care Console, and Microsoft Office programs.

Our team is the first point of contact for this program, and we are responsible for helping Washingtonians understand this new benefit.

Some Of What You Will Do

  • Organize and prepare documents following the Document Management statewide policies and procedures, including receiving, analyzing, and examining documents and resolving discrepancies
  • Provide document management support to WA Cares Benefits and Customer Care team, regional and headquarters staff
  • Determine accurate document type, classification and coding, then accurately assign them to the client’s electronic case record
  • Use the BCC Console for searching and identifying clients and their associated case records
  • Electronically image the documents received using scanning equipment and software
  • Ensure timely processing of documents

Who Should Apply

Professionals with an associate’s degree in business administration, accounting, industrial engineering, or a related field; or high school graduation or equivalent and two years of experience in forms and/or records management.
