THE POSITION

Washington County Behavioral Health Division within the Health and Human Services (HHS) Department is recruiting for an Aid and Assist Monitor to join our Aid and Assist Team!

About The Opportunity

This position will be responsible for evaluating, coordinating community restoration and related services and supports for Oregon State Hospital (OSH) and other Aid and Assist defendants. Essential duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct Community Restoration (CR) Consultation Evaluations; complete related paperwork and attend and testify at hearings as necessary.
  • Develop Community Restoration Plans based on identified needs; work with the patient, the court, attorneys, collaterals, and providers to implement and monitor the ongoing efficacy of the Plan.
  • Monitor client adherence to CR court orders and report to the court as ordered and needed.
  • Perform related Jail Diversion duties as assigned.
  • Refer clients to outside agencies for social, economic, housing, and medical services as needed; arrange and coordinate service provision for those in and out of jail and OSH custody.
  • Provide mental health and Aid and Assist education services to clients, families, provider agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Perform Psychiatric Security Review Board (PSRB), Community Restoration, Inmate Council Program (ICP), and Jail Diversion back-up support to those teams as requested by supervisor.
  • Provide Psychological First Aid to citizens when necessary.
  • Attend advisory committees and coordinate meetings as necessary.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of the intersection of criminal justice and behavioral health, the Aid and Assist process, and the community behavioral health system. Experience in clinical risk assessment is essential.

Essential Job Duties

Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • A Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field; AND three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in providing case management or services coordination in a human services related field; AND
  • Must be certified by the Mental Health and Addictions Certification Board of Oregon as a Qualified Mental Health Professional or hold an approved clinical license and meet the criteria of a Qualified Mental Health Professional as defined in the Oregon Administrative Rules.

Management, Administrative and Professional Personnel System (MAPPS) - FLSA exempt employees are paid on a salaried basis. The premise of salaried/exempt employment is that established compensation recognizes the time and effort needed to accomplish all assigned job duties. Regular and limited duration full-time employees working 30 hours or more per week and job share employees are eligible for benefits beginning on the first of the month following employment.
