Knowledge
- Criminal legal procedures and rules in the state court system.
- Principles, methods, and procedures for conducting legal research.
- Word processing systems, filing and records management systems, and general office procedures and guidelines.
- Use logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions or approaches to problems.
- Prepare legal documents and trial forms typical of court proceedings.
- Research statutes and legal references.
- Deal tactfully and discreetly with others on an in-person basis.
- Effectively organize and prioritize work to meet established deadlines.
- Organize and manage large volumes of exhibits and case documents effectively.
- Identify and analyze discovery request problems.
- Communicate statements of law, fact, and arguments clearly and logically in written and oral form.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in legal studies or a related field from an accredited institution, or the completion of a comprehensive formal paralegal program; AND two (2) years of professional legal support experience, including legal research, case preparation support for prosecutors, trial preparation, or related experience.
- Completion of a Paralegal program approved by the American Bar Association
- Experience performing paralegal work in the area of criminal prosecution
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
