What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grounds Assistant position at Washington Commanders?
The Washington Commanders are seeking qualified individuals to join the Grounds Department. This is a full-time hourly position and reports to the Senior Director of Grounds. This position is based out of BigBear.ai Performance Center in Ashburn Virgina, the training site of the Washington Commanders.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following
- Assist in field preparation for Commanders practices and games
- Run and Maintain equipment
- Create and implement an equipment maintenance program
- Maintain landscape around facility to highest quality
- Assist in painting multiple types of professional athletic fields
Requirements:
- 2 year degree from accredited sports turf program
- Flexibility to work extended hours, including some nights and weekends
- Strong communication skills both written and oral
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to obtain a Virginia pesticide herbicide license within 6 months of employment
- Ability to obtain a Virginia fertilizer applicator license within 6 months of employment
