Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Financial Reporting Specialist to join our accounting team in Grand Rapids. This role will support the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, assist with routine reporting for internal departments, and provide broad support to the accounting functions. The ideal candidate is highly organized, collaborative, and comfortable working in a professional services environment.


About the Opportunity

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Statements: Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements, including the firm’s profit and loss statement and balance sheet.
  2. Support for Other Departments: Prepare routine and ad-hoc reporting for other administrative departments. This includes but is not limited to metrics tracking for our business development initiatives, sub-group profit and loss statements for other support departments to track expenditures, and general support for legal assistants and attorneys.
  3. Assistance for Accounting Team: Collaborate with accounting team members to provide accurate and timely data in the areas of billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and collections.
  4. Miscellaneous Data Project Support: Work cohesively with our Controller and Financial Analyst as needed for larger process improvement projects and seasonal projects (budgeting, tax work, etc.).
  5. Customer Service / Continuous Improvement: Providing the above general responsibilities in #1-4 with the highest level of professional customer service and a forward-thinking mindset.

About You

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s in accounting, finance or equivalent experience in accounting or finance role.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel.
  • Experience with Microsoft Access helpful
  • Strong analytic and mathematical skills.
  • The physical demands of this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. These include being both mobile and stationary throughout the workday, having the ability to transport 25 pounds and being able to operate a computer and other business equipment found in the office.
