WareSpace is hiring a Senior Accountant to take full ownership of a portfolio of real estate assets across multiple states. Assets span pre-construction, construction, and stabilized operations. This role is hands-on, high accountability, and sits at the intersection of property-level accounting, systems, and corporate finance.
This is not a narrow “journal entry” role. You will own the books, understand the business, and help improve how the accounting function operates as the platform scales.

Qualifications
Core Responsibilities - Property / Portfolio Accounting
- Full-cycle accounting ownership for a portfolio of real estate entities
- Monthly close: journal entries, accruals, bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and review property-level financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Track construction costs, CIP, capitalization, and transition to placed-in-service
- Coordinate with development and construction teams on budgets, draws, and cost tracking
- Cash management, intercompany accounting, and loan activity tracking
- Support external audits, tax filings, and lender reporting
- Proactively identify accounting, system, or data issues and propose solutions
- Help manage corporate credit card programs (expense review, controls, reconciliations)
- Oversee accounts payable workflows and vendor management
- Partner with the Controller to improve close timelines, controls, and reporting quality
- Assist with ad-hoc analysis, reporting, and special projects as the company scales
- Primary accounting system: Rent Manager (major plus)
- Strong Excel skills required (reconciliations, schedules, roll-forwards)
- Tech-savvy mindset with comfort learning and improving systems
- Actively look for ways to automate, standardize, and streamline accounting processes
- Participate in system upgrades, integrations, and process redesign as WareSpace grows
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or Finance with strong accounting experience)
- 2-4 years of public accounting experience
- Additional experience in industry (real estate strongly preferred)
- Experience with multi-entity real estate accounting
- Rent Manager experience is a significant plus
- CPA or CPA-track preferred, not required
- Organized, detail-oriented, and capable of independently managing a portfolio
- Comfortable operating in a growing, evolving environment
- Is: Ownership, systems exposure, process improvement, and real estate depth
- Isn’t: A narrowly scoped staff role or a “check-the-box” accounting job
