What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Paralegal position at Wanek Kirsch LLC?
Wanek Kirsch LLC is a litigation law firm in New Orleans, Louisiana. We are seeking a seasoned Litigation Paralegal with a strong defense litigation background to join our team. Must be competent with:
- Drafting and preparing legal documents (e.g., form pleadings, complaints, motions, deposition notices, subpoenas, general correspondence, etc.) including e-filing in State and Federal courts;
- Analyzing and summarizing medical records with limited guidance;
- Conferring with court personnel as necessary;
- Maintaining updated correspondence and pleadings files and insure that documents are saved and filed into the appropriate workspaces/folders; and
- Maintaining daily attorney calendar including, but not limited to, scheduling appointments, meetings and travel arrangements.
- Performing clerical duties as needed.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, be able to manage a high volume of cases, work well under pressure, execute multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and have a minimum of 5 years of legal experience. A Paralegal Certificate and medical malpractice defense experience are preferred.
